Vocal Improv (Scat)

Alright folks. I. Love. Scat. I LOVE IT.
If you aren't quite sure what 'scat' is exactly, let me give you a quick run down.
In jazz, scat is basically improvising the way a musical instrument, like a sax or trumpet, would but using your voice.  Some artists will actually mimic the sound of the instrument they are thinking of at the time.
When I heard scat for the first time I fell in love with it and now find myself wandering around the house scoodle-dee-doot'n various lines and phrases.  I include it in a lot of my writing as well.
Anywho,
Heres a little improv solo I did in the kitchen at my parents old house.
(If you'd like to check out a few amazing artists, I recommend listening to Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme, Kevin Mahogany, and Kurt Elling to start)

Thank U For All U Are

I am thankful for all of you today and I'd like to say it in a song! (Does anyone else wish that life was like a musical?)

The River

I Love the human voice.. Well most of the time at least. I think there are people who fall in to the "joyful noise" category lol. I'm related to a few.  Anyway, as I was saying, the human voice amazes me!  And when its put together in just the right way, it can create sounds that will bring you to your knees.
Here's a short little ditty I wrote not too long ago.  I will always carry a deeply rooted love of Acapella music.  This tune was recorded using my trusty iPad, so the quality isn't perfect, but I sure love the sound I got using what i had.  Enjoy!  And download it for FREE!!!
