What You Do To My Heart

So I do this thing where I go back and listen to a bunch of my old songs, pouring over each one, borderline obsessively.  I don't do this because I'm in love with myself (Kanye. DOWN BOY.) but because my creative mind is almost always hearing new things each time I listen to the tune.  New ideas form, or old ones get cut.  It's truly one of my favorite parts of the creative process!
Anyway,
I wrote this a while back and released it as a single.  I hope you enjoy it!

Leading Your Band – Practical Ways To Shepherd Your Band (Via Verge Network)

As a worship leader, having been shepherded by many different types of leaders and pastors, I've found that one of the most important things you can do to lead your band is to place relationship with them above their serving on your team.  I've been victim of, and perpetrated, the types of relationships that are always tinged with something having to do with their service to the team.  Your people need to know that you want relationship with them even if they're not playing a single line or singing a single verse.  You shepherd the heart first.

Here is a great article from one of my favorite sources:

Officially On iTunes!

With the recent news of my single, What You Do To My Heart, being selected as one of the finalist songs for the John Lennon songwriting Contest, I thought that it may be time to release the tune officially over iTunes and other music services.

This song is very special to me and holds within the melody, harmonies, and lyrics an intimate description of the amazing presence of God.  It was written at a time of great hurt, and rough challenge, as Gods love enveloped my senses and his heart wrapped itself around my own, reminding me of who I truly am in Him.

My prayer is that you would experience a refreshing and renewal as you listen to the music.
