The Daily Tune #1: Hit Me by Dirty Loops

Welcome to the first post of a little segment I call 'The Daily Tune'.  To bundle it all in a little nutshell, I love music of all colors, and shades, flavors, and temperatures.  There is a HUGE, virtually limitless, library of music just waiting to be discovered and/or celebrated.  I'll occasionally share some of my own tunes here but want to showcase some of what I find for your listening pleasure.

One of the most amazing Jazz Fusion groups I've ever heard, Dirty Loops not only has some incredible original material but takes some of today's best top 40 hits and blazes through them with a fiery deliciousness that literally makes you love the song even more than the original version.

Today's song is titled "Hit Me" and is one of the groups original tunes.

Six Country Hits Played at Once Basically Sounds Like One Country Hit

Country music is not in as bad a shape as people often make it out to be. There are plenty of contemporary artists—like Kacey Musgraves and Sturgill Simpson, just to name two—giving it a good name. That said, the genre has seen better days. So much so that a YouTube musician who goes by Sir Mashalot staged an interesting experiment: He took six country hits ("Sure Be Cool If You Did” by Blake Shelton, “Drunk on You” by Luke Bryan, “Chillin’ It” from Cole Swindell, “Close Your Eyes” by Parmalee, “This is How We Roll” from Florida Georgia Line, and “Ready, Set, Roll” by Chase Rice—all Top 20 singles from the past three years) and played them on top of each other. The result is, well, not altogether different from what would happen if you only played one of them.
